The anterior approach makes simultaneous bilateral hip replacement logistically easier as the patient does not need to be repositioned during surgery.
Dr Williams will usually ask you to nominate the most painful hip, and this hip is operated on first. This way, if the anaesthetist decides that it is safest to postpone the second side, the most symptomatic hip is prioritised.
